  • Dow falls 543 points, as banks lead selloff

    U.S. stocks tumbled across the board with the Dow Jones Industrial Average and the S&P 500 down over 1.5% each, while the Nasdaq Composite lost over 2%. Heavy selling in S&P financial stocks, which fell over 4%, were the biggest drag on equities after Silicon Valley Bank announced plans to raise capital spooking jittery investors. Additionally, traders took money off the table ahead of Friday's jobs report. In commodities, oil fell over 1% to $75.72 per barrel.
